On March 14th, NextGenSTEM partnered with ICS to bring to life a workshop focused on helping young students develop both their psychomotor skills and expand their STEM knowledge. We worked with 5 to 6-year-olds on making a balloon power car, perfectly coinciding with their science unit on push-and-pull forces. The activity was extremely engaging, with all the students eagerly decorating their cars and even working ahead to finish.
My role was to help the students with completing the given tasks in a way that allowed them to learn and benefit from the experience. I deeply enjoyed working with them and talking to them about their favourite cars, what colours they liked, and more. This workshop was an amazing opportunity to learn more about STEM myself and interact with younger students with blossoming interest in STEM. I hope to work more with NextGenSTEM in the future and participate in their multitude of valuable workshops.
